The National Junior Honor Society at Eisenhower Junior High recently conducted a service project to benefit the Road Home and homeless youth in the Salt Lake area.  The students planned an after-school activity in which they raised 600 dollars and collected over 200 pairs of used jeans to donate.  The event focused on healthy living and consisted of games, activities, movies, and dinner.   Melinda Jackson, a 7th grade NJHS member said, “I really enjoyed the activities.  It was fun to be able to spend time with my friends after school.”

While delivering the jeans and money, the staff showed the students around the downtown Road Home shelter and explained what the donations were used for.  Kazmine Christensen, an 8th grade member of NJHS, stated that “it’s really cool that they accept everyone and never turn someone away.”
